OUR STORY
We are Steve and Maggie Short, owners at Slabtown Horse Camp (formally Slabtonn Trail Rides). During a visit in October of 2018 Steve fell in love with the area and decided to pursue his dream of owning a horse camp. In June of 2019 we purchased the camp and have been working on repairs and updating the campground since. It is our vision to create an amazing campground for both campers and equine. We are located in the Mark Twain National Forest near Plato Mo. The campground is next to the beautiful Paddy Creek Wilderness. Ride to amazing destinations such as unique rock formations, caves, and beautiful overlooks. Cool your horse and yourself in the Big Piney River on hot summer days. Steve manages the day to day operations of the campground and is always available to help out in any way. Come and visit us! We look forward to meeting you!
